The first specimen was lot 3919 in Sincona sale 6 (Zürich, May 2012), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$400 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SPANIEN Felipe III. 1598-1621. 4 Reales 1621, Segovia. Mmz. A. Gekröntes Wappen. Rv. Viergeteiltes Wappen. Schöne Patina. Vorzüglich. (Spain, Philip III, 1598-1621, four reales of 1621, Segovia mint. Obverse: crowned arms; reverse: quartered arms. Nice toning, extremely fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 4564 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $690. The catalog description[1] noted, "Spain. 4 Reales, 1621 (Segovia). KM-62. Mint mark, Aqueduct. Philip III. Crowned arms. Reverse: Cross with castles and lions. Well struck. Toned. About Extremely Fine." This four reales, an early milled issued from the Segovia mint, is listed for 1621-60.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rather scarce.

Specification: 13.73 g, 0.931 fine silver, this specimen 12,99 g.
