This specimen was lot 104 in Áureo y Calicó sale 347 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €28,000 (about US$36,952 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Enrique IV (1454-1474). Jaén. Enrique de la silla. Orla cuatrilobular en anverso y circular en reverso. Bellísima. Preciosa pátina. Ex Áureo 21/04/1998, nº 492. Extraordinariamente rara. EBC-. (kingdom of Castile and Leon, Henry IV, 1454-74, undated gold henry of the chair, quadrilobe on the obverse and circle on the reverse. Precious patina, extraordinarily rare, about extremely fine.)"

The enrique de la silla, issued during the short unhappy reign of Henry IV, was worth 350 maravedis when first issued. It was issued in Burgos, Madrid, Murcia, Cuenca, Jaen, Segovia, Seville and Toledo. Numerous varieties exist, with the king seated on a plain or Gothic throne surrounded by a circle or a quadrilobe. Henry was king of Castile and Leon but not of Aragon or Navarre. His niece, Isabella, and Ferdinand of Aragon would unite Spain.

Recorded mintage: unknown but Jaen is a rare mint.
