This specimen was lot 46063 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. 2 Shilling, 1937. NGC MS-62. A frosty, lightly toned coin with nicely original surfaces and just a few minor scuffs on the obverse." The two shillings or florin was struck in South Africa 1923-60. It was 0.800 fine silver until 1950 and 0.500 fine thereafter. This type was struck for George VI 1937-47. In 1948, the obverse legend was revised to drop "IMPERATOR".
Recorded mintage: 1,495,000 + 116 proofs, a common date.
