This specimen was lot 25084 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $21,150. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Proof 2 Shillings 1932, Proof 65 PCGS Pittman Collection, mirror surfaces with light cameo frost on the bust, rare in Proof with a mintage of 12." The two shillings or florin was struck in South Africa 1923-60. It was 0.800 fine silver until 1930 and 0.500 fine thereafter. This is the most common date of the type (1931-36).

Recorded mintage: 1,315,000 plus 12 proofs.

Specification: 11.31 g, 0.500 fine silver, 28.5 mm diameter.
