his specimen was lot 2436 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $42. The catalog description[1] noted, "South Africa. Farthing, 1932. KM-12.3. George V. Choice. NGC graded MS-65 Brown." The farthing was first struck in 1923. In 1931, the reverse was modified to read "¼ D" instead of "¼ PENNY" and struck in this form until 1936.
Recorded mintage: 105,000 plus 12 proofs.
