Stack's Bowers 2025 NYINC sale, lot 37464

This specimen was lot 37464 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $125. The catalog description^[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. Bawbee, 1691. Edinburgh Mint. William and Mary. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, VF Details. From the Richard August Collection." This type was worth about half an English penny and was struck 1691-92. Varieties exist. The denomination was last struck in 1697.
