Stack's Bowers 2025 NYINC sale, lot 37462

This specimen was lot 37462 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $125. The catalog description^[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. 10 Shillings, 1692. Edinburgh Mint. William and Mary. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, VF Details. S-5662; KM-133. Variety with GRATIA spelling and J-type 1 in date. From the Richard August Collection." This type was worth about an English shilling and was struck 1691-94. It is rare in Very Fine or better. The denomination was last struck in 1699.
