This specimen was lot 46030 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. Bawbee (6 Pence), 1678. Charles II. PCGS EF-40 Gold Shield. Glossy chocolate brown with hints of luster within the legends. Nicely centered on the obverse and drawn slightly to 2 o'clock on the reverse. Very attractive for the type. From the Loch Ness Collection." This type was worth about half an English penny and was struck 1677-79. The denomination was last struck in 1697.
