Künker Auction 426, lot 3808

This specimen was lot 3808 in Künker Auction 426 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €220 (about US$312 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, KÖNIGREICH Friedrich August II., 1836-1854. Vereinsdoppeltaler 1852 F. Kl. Schrötlingsfehler, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Saxony, Frederick Augustus II, 1836-54, double union thaler of 1852. Minor planchet defect, about extremely fine.)"

This type, struck 1839-54, is among the more common double thalers of nineteenth century Germany.

Recorded mintage: 209,000.
