This specimen was lot 1477 in Goldberg Sale 146 (Los Angeles, July 2025), where it sold for $114. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Saxony. 1/3 Taler, 1672-CR. Johann Georg II. Pop 1; The only other graded at PCGS MS-62. This coin is photo in the PCGS Pop Report. PCGS graded EF-40. The Augustana Collection." The one-third thaler also circulated as a half gulden. This type was struck 1672-75 and 1680. This example realized one-third of the catalog value.
