This specimen was lot 3746 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $1,265. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italian States - Sardinia. Zecchino, 1744. Carlo Emanuele III, 1730-1773. Crowned eagle. Reverse: The Annun[cia]tion. Minor marks, still an attractive example of this scarce type. NGC graded Extremely Fine, Details (Rim Filing)." This type was struck 1743-46 and is scarce. It does not fit in the other Sardinian issues of half doppia, doppia and double doppie.
