This specimen was lot 72696 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Sardinia. 20 Soldi, 1748. Carlo Emanuele III. NGC VF-35. This example displays strong details and much charm, despite some time in circulation." This type was struck 1742 and 1747-48. The SCWC reports a mintage of 2,000,000 for 1747, a most improbable figure considering the type's scarcity. It was accompanied by a mezza lira and a 2½ soldi.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 5.7 g, 0.917 fine silver, 28 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-37.
