This specimen was lot 932 in Stack's "Vermuele, Ward & Mexico Maxico" sale (New York, January 2010), where it sold for $460. The catalog description[1] noted, "VATICAN-PAPAL STATES. Benedict XIV, 1740-1758. Zecchino, 1744. Rome. Religion seated on clouds, Pope's name as legend. Rv. Dove of Holy Spirit over crowned Arms. Wavy planchet. Very Fine." This type was struck 1741-56 and is among the more common of papal ducats.
