This specimen was lot 40570 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Salzburg. 1/4 Ducat, 1712. Salzburg Mint. Franz Anton. PCGS AU-58. From the Augustana Collection." The Archbishopric of Salzburg was an ecclesiastical state between Bavaria and Austria and usually ruled by a Hapsburg client. In the seventeenth century it was blessed with a number of productive silver mines and the prince-archbishop was a prolific issuer of coins, particularly thalers. This type was struck 1709, 1712-19 and 1725. The archbishopric was secularized in 1803 and passed to Austria in 1814.
