This specimen was lot 3374 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $2,232.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 15 Kopek, 1916. Petrograd Mint. NGC PROOF-67. A very attractive superb gem proof. Partial lilac and russet toning among the fields which are illuminated from below by the incredibly lustrous surfaces. Tied with one other piece in this numeric grade as the finest certified, the other piece having the cameo designation. In an old generation NGC holder and a good candidate for upgrading to finest status."
