This specimen was lot 36496 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), where it sold for $1,175. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nicholas II Proof 10 Kopecks 1916 BC PR64 Cameo PCGS. With alluring mirror-like surfaces. Very elusive in Proof." This type is listed for 1915-17. Despite there only being three dates, large numbers were minted and the type is common. In 1914, Russia plunged into World War One, which conflict would lead to the destruction of the regime.

Recorded mintage: 121,500,000.

Specification: 1.8 g, 0.500 fine silver, .028 troy oz ASW.
