This specimen was lot 75305 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 2 Kopeks, 1882-CNB. St. Petersburg Mint. Alexander III. NGC MS-64 Brown. KM-Y-10.2. A handsome example of an Imperial Russian bronze, this little beauty displays a satiny and silken finish to the well struck and milk chocolate surfaces." This type was struck 1867-71, 1876-1914 in large numbers. The nineteenth century dates are scarce in nice condition but the later dates are common with, of course, the exception of the proofs.
