This specimen was lot 39613 in Stack's Bowers Winter sale (Baltimore, November 2015), where it sold for $1,116.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 5 Ruble, 1828-CNB. PCGS EF-40 Secure Holder. SCARCE as a type, the wings-down design setting it apart from most other 19th century Russian issues. Fully original, never cleaned, with even warm color and problem-free rims. Quite nice for the grade, with modest wear and no marks or stains." This type was struck 1826-31 and is scarce. The initials stand for assayer Paul Danilov.

Recorded mintage: 604,000.
