This specimen was lot 25383 in Heritage sale 3019 (Chicago, April 2012), where it sold for $2,300. The catalog description[2] noted, "Nicholas I gold 5 Roubles 1829 СПБ-ПД, Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle with date below / Crowned four-line inscription in wreath, AU Details, Scratches NGC. An adequate strike with luster remaining and light scratches on the obverse." This type was struck 1826-31 and is scarce.

Recorded mintage: 733,000.

Specification: 6.54 g, 0.917 fine gold, .192 troy oz AGW.
