This specimen was lot 75431 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $610. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 25 Kopeks, 1828-CNB HT. St. Petersburg Mint. Nicholas I. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, Unc Details. Reeded edge. From the Odessa Collection." Initials НГ stand for mintmaster Nikolay Grachev. This type was struck 1827-31 and the 1828 comes with a reeded edge (shown here) or a dotted edge. The superseding type (KM C166) had a "wings up" eagle.
