This specimen was lot 39585 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 20 Kopeks, 1825-CNB NA. St. Petersburg Mint. Alexander I. NGC AU-55." This type was struck 1810-26 and is scarce in collectible condition. An 1825/4 overdate is recorded for the year. The SCWC notes an overdate 1825/23/19. Assayer ПД (Pavel Danilov, shown here) is common while ΗГ (Nikolay Grachev) is scarce.
Recorded mintage: 1,375,000 (assayers ПД and ΗГ).
Specification: 4.14 g, 0.868 fine silver, 22.1 mm diameter.
