Stephen Album sale 50, lot 3252

This specimen was lot 3252 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA: Alexander I, 1801-1825, AR rouble, 1825/4, lightly cleaned, bold overdate, VF-XF." This type was struck 1810-26 in large quantities but is today very rare in nice condition. The succeeding type (Dav-282) is very similar but with a modified eagle.

Recorded mintage: 1,461,000 (assayer ПД and ΗГ).

Specification: 20.73 g, 0.868 fine silver.
