Sincona sale 84, lot 151

This specimen was lot 151 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 30 CHF (about US$41 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, Grivennik 1783, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB. 0.75 rouble according to Petrov. Good very fine. Scratches on reverse."

This coin, struck in this style 1783-96 at St. Petersburg, is just a little light to be classified as a dime, tho it is one tenth of a ruble. This denomination was also struck in copper.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.37 g, 0.750 fine silver, this specimen 2.74 g.
