This specimen was lot 40343 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $7,638. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 5 Rubles, 1783-CNB. NGC EF-45. Pleasing color." This five rubles, tho less rare than those of Elizabeth, is still plenty expensive. It is listed for 1783-96.

Recorded mintage: 33,000.

Specification: 6.54 g, 0.917 fine gold, .192 troy oz AGW.
