This specimen was lot 12477 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 5 Rubles, 1782-CNB. PCGS AU-53 Secure Holder. Catherine II (1762-96)." This five rubles, tho less rare than those of Elizabeth, is still plenty expensive. It is listed for 1778-82.

Recorded mintage: 39,000.

Specification: 6.54 g, 0.917 fine gold, .192 troy oz AGW.
