This specimen was lot 22932 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $329. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 15 Kopek, 1783-CNB. Catherine II (the Great) (1762-96). PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder. Deep and even dark grey tone, pleasing to the eye." This is a common date of a style used 1783-94. This denomination was struck in several styles during the reign of Catherine the Great, after which the denomination was dropped until the 1860's. The second specimen was lot 149 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 275 CHF (about US$370 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 15 Kopecks 1783, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB. 1 rouble according to Petrov. About extremely fine."

Specification: 3.55 g, 0.750 fine silver, the second specimen 3.16 g.
