Sincona sale 93, lot 1093

This specimen was lot 1093 in Sincona sale 93 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$347 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSLAND Kaiserreich und Föderation, Catherine II. 1762-1796, 2 Kopecks 1772, Suzun Mint, KM. NGC AU58 BN. Überdurchschnittliche Erhaltung, Extraordinary condition."

This type was struck 1764-80 for circulation in Siberia and is today common. On this type, two martens support a shield with the date and value.
