This specimen was lot 3214 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$238 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUMÄNIEN. Carol I. 1866-1914 5 Bani 1885. Bukarest. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Romania, Carol I, 1866-1914, five bani of 1885, Bucharest mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
This type was struck at Bucharest 1882-85 and is common in worn condition. The next five bani would be a copper-nickel issue of 1900.
