Sincona sale 33, lot 3210

This specimen was lot 3210 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUMÄNIEN. Carol I. 1866-1914 5 Bani 1883. Bukarest. Vorzüglich. Etwas berieben. (Romania, Carol I, 1866-1914, five bani of 1883, Bucharest mint. Extremely fine, Slightly polished.)"

This type was struck at Bucharest 1882-85 and is common in worn condition. The next five bani would be a copper-nickel issue of 1900.

Recorded mintage: 3,000,000.

Specification: 5 g, copper, this specimen 4.94 g.
