Künker sale 405, part of lot 3150

This specimen was lot 3150 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,231 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS LEOPOLDS I. 1/5 Dukat 1696. Goldabschlag von dem Stempel des einseitigen Pfennigs. Münzmeister Michael Federer. Stempelschneider Johann Adam Seitz. GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (city of Regensburg, one fifth ducat of 1696, struck using penny dies. Extremely rare, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

The SCWC notes that the dies of the 1694 uniface pfennig (KM 204) were used to make two off-metal strikes; one, of 1/8 ducat weight (KM Pn17), and this one, of 1/5 ducat weight.
