This specimen was lot 3065 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €3,800 (about US$4,986 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS RUDOLF II., 1576-1612. Guldentaler (60 Kreuzer) 1589, mit Titel Rudolfs II. Münzmeister Erhardt Scherl. Von großer Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, sehr schön +. (city of Regensburg, gulden of 1589, in the name of Rudolf II. Extremely rare, fine patina, choice very fine.)"
This gulden was struck 1577-82, 1586, 1589-95 and 1598 and is very scarce. This example realized double the catalog value.
