Künker sale 294, lot 4321

This specimen was lot 4321 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €400 (about US$539 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"REICHSSILBERMÜNZEN, PREUSSEN, Wilhelm II. 1888-1918. 2 Mark 1888, A. Feine Patina, fast Stempelglanz. (unified silver coinage, kingdom of Prussia, William II, 1888-1918, two mark of 1888. Fine patina, about uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1888 only (along with KM 510 for Frederick III) and is rather scarce. The later KM 522 (struck 1891-1912) used a larger eagle on the reverse.

Recorded mintage: 140,512.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, .321 troy oz ASW.
