from Sincona sale 39, lot 3391

This specimen was lot 3391 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Bayern, Königreich, Otto, 1886-1913 2 Mark 1888 D. München Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. FDC. Cabinet piece. NGC MS 66. (kingdom of Bavaria, Otto, 1886-1913, two mark of 1888, Munich mint. Very rare in this condition. Brilliant uncirculated.)"

This one year type, tho not low mintage, is scarce. The subsequent two mark (KM 913) featured a redesigned reverse and was first struck in 1981.

Recorded mintage: 172,368.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, .321 troy oz AGW, this specimen 11.13 g.
