Prussia 1862-A 2 thaler Dav-779
This specimen was lot 4152 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,253 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Wilhelm I. 1861-1888. Doppelter Vereinstaler 1862, A. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Erworben am 6.11.1970. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, William I, 1861-88, double union thaler of 1862. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
This double thaler was struck 1861-63 and is scarce. Its successor, KM 496 of 1865-71, ends the series.
