Prussia 1782-A 3 kreuzer

This specimen was lot 45318 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Holy Roman Empire. 3 Kreuzer, 1782-A. Vienna Mint. Joseph II. NGC MS-63. KM-2059." This is not an Austrian three kreuzer but actually KM 1023, struck for Silesia by Frederick the Great of Prussia. The type was struck in large quantities at Berlin (shown here) and Breslau (mintmark "B") 1771-86.

Specification: 1.67 g, 0.173 fine silver, 18.9 mm diameter.
