This specimen was lot 3481 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €130 (about US$181 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/3 Reichstaler preuß. 1775, A, Berlin. Greisenantlitz. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Kurpfälzische Münzhandlung 33, Mannheim 1987, Nr. 557 (Lot). (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one third thaler of 1775, old head. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1774-86 at Berlin, Breslau and Konigsberg. This superseded KM 303 of 1764-74 which featured a youthful bust of the king. The 1/12 thaler was retired in 1772 and the 1/6 thaler was retired in 1778 but this denomination carried on to the end of the century. One third thaler was half a gulden.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.
Specification: 8.35 g, 0.666 fine silver, this specimen is 8,31 g.
