Prussia 1774-E 1/3 thaler
This specimen was lot 3527 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €50 (about US$70 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/3 Reichstaler preuß. 1774, E, Königsberg. Berliner Typ. Schrötlingsfehler, vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Möller 14, Kassel 1994, Nr. 1346. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one third thaler of 1774, Königsberg mint, Berlin type. Planchet flaws, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1764-74 at Berlin, Breslau, Konigsberg and Magdeburg, this is a common date. One third thaler was half a gulden.
