Prussia 1773-E 1/6 thaler
This specimen was lot 3533 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €280 (about US$390 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/6 Reichstaler preuß. 1773, E, Königsberg. Berliner Typ. Min. justiert, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Exemplar der Spezialsammlung Brandenburg-Preußen aus norddeutschem Privatbesitz, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 60, Osnabrück 2000, Nr. 4255. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one sixth thaler of 1773, Königsberg mint, Berlin type. Minor adjustments, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1764-78 at Königsberg. The mints at Berlin, Breslau, Cleve and Aurich also struck this denomination but used a different bust.
