Künker sale 353, lot 3175

This specimen was lot 3175 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €500 (about US$696 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich (III.) I. 1701-1713. 2/3 Taler 1707, CS, Berlin. Mit Schuppen und Steinen auf dem Harnisch und mit FRID · D · G · am Anfang der Vorderseitenumschrift und der Kopf teilt die Umschrift. Münzmeister Christoph Stricker. Sehr schön +. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick I, 1701-13, two-thirds thaler of 1707, Berlin mint, with scales and jewels on the armor and with "FRID·D·G·" at the start of the obverse legend and the head interrupts the legend. Very fine or better.)"

This gulden was struck 1707-10. Several other varieties (KM 12, KM 61, KM 76) were struck in 1707.
