This specimen was lot 75550 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 10 Escudos, 1937. Lisbon Mint. NGC MS-63. Thoroughly argent, satiny surfaces are rather pristine for the Choice Uncirculated grade level. A popular modern type sure to attract specialists." This type was accompanied by 2½ and five escudos of similar design. Of the seven dates struck, the 1932 and 1940 are the most available.
Recorded mintage: 500,000, a scarce date.
