This specimen was lot 10623 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $499. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 20 Reis, ND (ca. 1688)-P. NGC MS-65. Pedro II (1683-1706). "P's" between arms of cross. Dark toned. From the Demarete Collection." This one-year(?) type lacks a date but has "P's" for the Porto mint. This is the only issue of this denomination in the seventeenth century. Later types from the eighteenth century were copper.

Specification: 0.9 g, 0.917 fine silver, 16 mm diameter.
