This specimen was lot 23502 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. Vintem, ND (1521-57). Lisbon Mint. Joao III. NGC AU-53. A charming, handsome example, featuring an attractive cabinet tone and a well centered strike. The handling is very light and even, and a hint of luster remains as well." Like many early Portuguese coins, this specimen is not dated, and can only be attributed to ruler.
