Sincona sale 84, lot 337. the reverse image is upside down.

This specimen was lot 337 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 15 Kopecks - 1 Zloty 1839, St. Petersburg Mint, NG. Die rotation 180°. Extremely rare. About extremely fine. Slightly cleaned. There is no auction record or listing of this extremely rare variety in any known internet database."

This type was struck 1832-41 at Warsaw and St. Petersburg. One złoty equaled fifteen kopeks. Russian coinage for Poland ended in 1850 altho the Warsaw mint continued to operate.

Recorded mintage: 1,510,002.

Specification: 3.11 g, 0.868 fine silver, 19 mm diameter, this specimen 2.95 g.
