Sincona sale 84, lot 335

This specimen was lot 335 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 3/4 Roubles - 5 Zlotych 1839, St. Petersburg Mint, NG. Mintage for Poland. Extremely rare. 12 roubles according to Petrov. 75 roubles according to Ilyin. NGC VF35. Supposedly only a few specimens known struck in circulation. From the Soedermann Collection, auction SINCONA 12, Zürich, October 2013, lot 740 (price realized: CHF 15,000 CHF)."

This type was struck 1833-41 at Warsaw and St. Petersburg. Five złotych equaled three quarters of a ruble. Russian coinage for Poland ended in 1841 altho the Warsaw mint continued to operate.
