Sedwick sale 11, lot 150

The specimen shown was lot 150 in Sedwick sale 11 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Lima, Peru, bust 1 escudo, Ferdinand VII, 1819JP. XF/AU, a few minor marks on obverse only, lustrous and attractive, scarce type." While eight escudos from Peru are reasonably available, the smaller gold denominations are all very scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.875 fine gold, .095 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.3 grams.
