This specimen was lot 31433 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $1,468.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles IV gold 8 Escudos 1802 LM-IJ UNC Details (Surface hairlines) NGC, Lima mint. A lustrous and well struck example retaining much mint bloom and scarce as such despite the mishandling accounting for the designation." This coin was minted 1792-1808 and is the most common Peruvian colonial eight escudos.
