This specimen was lot 7320 in Ponterio sale 152 (New York, January 2010), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 2 Escudos, 1791-IJ. NGC XF-45." This type was struck during the transition from Charles III (1759-88) to Charles IV (1788-1808). While eight escudos from Peru are reasonably available, the smaller gold denominations are all very scarce.
