Papal States 1725 grosso rev Tom F.jpg

This date is listed in the SCWC for 1725 for Benedict XIII (1724-30), to honor the Holy Year. It accompanied a grosso with the papal arms on the obverse (KM 807). Another 1725 grosso, KM 808, has a motto on the reverse. The grosso was five baiocchi or one twentieth of a scudo. Many varieties were issued in the 1720's.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce, verging on rare.

Specification: 1.34 g, silver, 0.917 fine.

Catalog reference: KM-806, Ber-2568.
