This specimen was lot 11116 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €3,600 (about US$3,752). The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. Skilling, 1686. Kongsberg Mint. Christian V. NGC AU-58. A superbly well-preserved example of this rare date. The obverse retains hints of luster hugging the devices while the reverse has plenty of luster to bring out the details in a most charming manner. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This rare type was struck 1686-87. One specie daler was six mark or 96 skilling.
