from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 11113

This specimen was lot 11113 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €125 (about US$130). The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 2 Skilling, 1686-PG. Christiania mint. Christian V. NGC VF-35. Crown c. 10 mm wide. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1684-86. Another two skilling with an arms reverse (KM 153) was also struck in 1686. One specie daler was six mark or 96 skilling.

Recorded mintage: 231,000.

Specification: 1.22 g, 0.344 fine silver, this specimen 1.04 g.
